The Rye & District Chamber of Commerce was established in 1948 by a local retailer to represent the collective views of local businesses through membership…and since that time has remained so.
The work of Rye Chamber of Commerce is undertaken by its members, on a voluntary basis. We have an increasing membership of local businesses from Rye and the surrounding area.
Our aim is the promotion of the interests of the business community in Rye and District. We are allied to (ACES) the Alliance of Chambers in East Sussex - not just one voice but many.

OUR WORK
The Chamber is proud of past achievements including the advancement of Rye Bay Marketing, an extremely successful cardboard recycling scheme over a fifteen year period, CCTV and Radio schemes, the promotion of Rye's fishing industry via the Scallop Festival started by past Chair and restauranteur Kate Hemmings, along with the years of involvement in making Christmas special in Rye. Some of these initiatives have since evolved into their own stand alone events.
