Rye Chamber Brokers Partnership With 1066 Country Marketing

Rye Chamber is shaking things up! As part of our fresh approach to working with businesses in the region we want to encourage partnerships and working alliances to strengthen Rye’s unique character.

A first step in that direction is our new partnership with 1066 Country Marketing. It will enable our members to benefit from the marketing and PR opportunities generated by 1066 and allow their members to work in a more joined-up way with the town.

1066 Country Marketing is a thriving public and private sector partnership which brings together Rother District Council, Hastings Borough Council, Wealden District Council, Tourism South-East, National Trust and English Heritage alongside a wide portfolio of privately owned businesses to promote our region as a high quality, year -round destination.

The 1066 brand is internationally recognised, our region is synonymous with the most famous event in English History and the work 1066 does covers 378 square miles of historic coast and countryside including Rye, Camber, Hastings, Battle and Bexhill, Bodiam and Burwash.

Our membership deal means that you can now belong to both organisations at a discounted rate. If you’re a member of the Chamber and you wish to join 1066 – your first year of membership will be discounted by 50% - just £45 for the year. Likewise, 1066 members can now join Rye Chamber at a discount of 50% - £25 for the first year. Ongoing renewals for dual memberships either side will be discounted by 10% on the going rate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take some of the hard work out of marketing your business. As a member you’ll be promoted on visit1066.com – which gets around 85K page views each month, you can list your events on the website, your social media posts will be widely shared and you’ll be included on monthly consumer newsletters which are issued to over 9.500 people.

The 1066 team work hard to source media opportunities from editorial features and roundups, through to radio and television requests, and blogger, influencer and journalist visits. Members can respond by submitting information or offering facility visits for possible editorial coverage. Unless you’re lucky enough to have a dedicated media team within your business, accessing these kind of opportunities is challenging and time consuming so 1066 really does offer a short-cut to making sure you are positioned in front of the audiences that really count.

As well as being Vice Chair of the Chamber, Sarah Broadbent is also the Rye Representative on the Executive Board of 1066 Country Marketing. As a Rye area business owner herself, she’s passionate about making sure our businesses have the best exposure to the best marketing opportunities.

If you’ve not already taken up the opportunity to join 1066 but you’d like to – then please get in touch you can contact Sarah at info@ryechamber.org, or direct on 07767 870 230.
